Emerald

Traditionally, Emerald is May's birthstone.  Emeralds are considered to be more valuable than even diamonds. In ancient records, some of the earliest Emerald mines are near the Red Sea, one in particular is called "Cleopatra's Mines"- where pharaohs gathered gems between 3000 and 1500 B.C.  Emerald  is found in Afghanistan, Columbia, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan, and Russsa- However, our Emeralds are mined in Zambia and Brazil.

Emerald Care:

Emerald is rated "Fair" to "Good" for everyday wear. To Clean, very gently scrub with a soft toothbrush in warm water and dish soap. Avoid exposure to heat, chemicals, and protect from harsh blows.

Dukes Jewelers offers a jewelry cleaning service free of charge.
