The Blue Sapphire is traditionally the birthstone for the month of September. Since ancient times, humankind has believed that the stone holds in it's depths the power of the sea. Sapphire represents loyalty and trust, which is why it is popular to have the stone in an engagement ring. Sapphire is most well known for it's blue color, but it also comes in pink, yellow and green among others.
Sapphire Care:
Sapphires are rated "excellent" for everyday wear. To clean, very gently scrub with a soft toothbrush in warm water and soap.
Dukes Jewelers also offers a signature jewelery cleaning service free of charge.
The pendant in the picture to the left is a genuine pear shaped Blue Sapphire set in a 14kt white gold diamond setting.
